Tamil film industry stands out as rare of its kind. It has an appealing history that boasts of our superstars having essayed dual-n-multiple roles as good and bad ones.
We bring an exclusive look on such films of our superstars.
Enthiran: Nothing stops the film from drawing more attention. The reason why the film is turned global spotlights is because of Superstar Rajnikanth donning dual roles. Dr. Vasigaran, a far-famed scientist involved in robotic engineering. He invents a Robot named ‘Chitti’ that is a multi-faceted personality. But just as it acquires the bad characters of human world, it starts dreading the city.
Aalavandhan: Kamal Haasan essayed the role of twin brothers – a military officer Vijay and Nanda Kumar, a psychopath. The film is about the combat between these two contrastive personalities. Vijay has to save his wife (Raveena Tandon) while Nanda Kumar wants to kill her.
Vaali: Obviously, Ajith Kumar is the winner amongst the league of actors performing dual roles at many times. But he won the appreciations for his trendsetting flick ‘Vaali’ that featured him in both characters.
Azhagiya Tamizh Magan: This was a different flick in the league of Vijay as he stepped out of his usual pattern. It is about a graduate, who has premonitory visions and instantly one of his own-like characters coming into his life.
What is strikingly common among these films is that the main point of conflict happens to a ‘female character’. Enthiran is all about Chitti Robot falling in love with Dr. Vasigaran’s fiancée Sana. Aalavandhan about the psychotic brother vowing to kill his brother’s wife presuming that she is the reincarnation of his dead evil aunt… Azhagiya Tamizh Magan has the baddie falling in love with the girl and chisels her with his identical look. Well, everyone knows about ‘Vaali’ as it revolves around the conflicts between twin brothers for a girl.
