The much awaited ‘Bairavaa’ is all on the big bang launch sending high Goosebumps to the fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay and we bring you analysis of the songs composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The film is directed by Bharathan and is produced by Vijaya Productions with Keerthy Suresh, Daniel Balaji, Jagapathi Babu and many other prominent actors in the cast.
Singer: Ananthu Special Mention On Backing Vocals: Benny Dayal
There seems to be a confusion on which is the hero introduction number the other track too carries the same factors of having a hero deliver message. Even this one has its own toast, but it’s not the best when compared with usual style of Vijay songs. Yes, but there is something we all should make it clear – when Vijay is there on the screens, even the average number would be a Chartbuster. The beats are little louder here and the orchestrations are on the middling impact.
This is the only melody we get to hear from this album and it has been composed with a mellifluous ethnicity of Santhosh Narayanan trademark. It brings forth soothing experience through the instrumentals, especially during the interludes. Haricharan is the icing of cake and he adorns the lyrical lines of Vairamuthu with more beautifications. But it would have been better if Santhosh had a reprised version with Vijay crooning this track.
Azhagiya Soodana Poovey
Singer: Vijaynarain, Dharshana Kt
It’s a trendy western number, where it all begins with a decorous note, but when it comes to overall packaging, it would be preferably a slow pick up and might pull up our interests with accordance to the time, maybe with visuals, but the singers have done a groovy job. Not to miss the rhythmic accompaniment in the backdrops.
Singer: Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Priyadarshini
A typical custom made song for Vijay fans. The fast beat number that has the penchant touch for the mass fans, where Ilayathalapathy delivers his ideologies. He can thank Vairamuthu for making it happen. Although the song is just an average when you hear it for the first time, it will definitely have the blast in theatres, precisely for the dance steps of Vijay.
Varlaam Varlaam Vaa
Tamil Rap: Arunraja Kamaraj
English Rap: Roshan Jamrock
Of course, the towns went crazy with just few lines from the film’s teaser and it is really a huge treat for every fan of Ilayathalapathy. There is something magical about the track, where you read it as lyrics, it’s so ordinary, but as it takes the form of music through the power packed guitars and vocalisms by Arunraja Kamaraj, it gains high voltage intensity.
On the whole, ‘Bairavaa’ is a perfect treat for Vijay fans as it carries three fast-beat numbers followed by a melodious number and western track. It looks like Santhosh Narayanan will take some time to prove his proficiency in commercial genre album zones. When compared to other albums in his league, this one is comparatively lesser in scope of bringing the best from him. But again, it’s a Vijay film and he can add Midas-touch with his screen presence.
Verdict: Santhosh Narayanan’s commercial attempt gets a moderate strike, but surely a hit among Vijay fans.
