‘Sathriyan’ director is no more

Maverick filmmaker K Subash of Vijayakanth’s Sathriyan fame passed away due to illness.

Filmmaker K. Subash, maker of some prominent movies like Prabhu starrer Kaliyugam, Uthama Purushan, Vijayakanth starrer ‘Sathriyan’, Ajith Kumar’s Nesam-Pavithra, Prabhu Deva’s Ezhaiyin Sirippil, Parthiepan starrer ‘Abhimanyu’ was recently admitted at a private hospital in Vadapalani due to some prolonged illness. This morning, he passed away at the age of 57. He worked as assistant director to Maniratnam in ‘Nayagan’ and made his debut directorial with the film ‘Kaliyugam’. His other film ‘Sathriyan’ is still regarded as one of the best movies in his directorial career. Apart from direction, he has penned script for few movies that includes Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express. His sudden demise has shocked the entire film fraternity and we at Top 10 Cinema convey our condolence to his family and friends grieving his demise. Let his soul rest in peace.
