It’s really worth the title for the man imbibing his heart and soul towards the passion that has been driving him for decades. This an eventful day of pride for every member of Indian film fraternity as Kamal Haasan bows down in humbleness over being entitled with Chevalier de L’Ordre Arts et Lettres (The Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by Government of France. This is indeed; the order is part of France’s premiere award. It is worth mentioning that the erstwhile actors who have already been conferred with this title are Sivaji Ganesan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Nandita Das and Shah Rukh Khan.
In a recorded voice message to all his fans, media channels and admires Kamal Haasan cited that he takes this opportunity to bow before his forerunners like Sathyajit Ray and Sivaji Ganesan, who had made even common man to know about the ethnic values of this title. “I would like to thank the Ambassador of France in India, Mr. Alexandre Ziegler, who placed my name out there for consideration for this title. At this point, when my parents aren’t here to witness their son achieve this, I am happy that my masters, elders and youngsters in my family are out there to enjoy this moment,” said Kamal Haasan.
