The long expected film ‘Iru Mugan’ is having a big bash theatrical trailer and audio launch at Sathyam Cinemas and we bring you the first official music review of this film. The movie starring Chiyaan Vikram, Nithya Menen and Nayantara in lead roles features musical score by Harris Jayaraj and has cinematography handled by RD Rajashekar.

Singers : Christopher Stanley, Abhay Jodhpurkar, Ujjayinee Roy
Additional Voices : Mc Vickey, Sharanya Gopnath
Lyrics : Karky

The first track of this album has some peppy and voguish styled composition by Harris Jayaraj, where the auto beats on the percussions pop up the spirits that takes you to the world of Hip Hop. This could be an instant hit among the listeners of urban backdrops, but for sub-urban and rural ones, it’s not a cup of coffee. The additional voices by Mc Vickey and Sharanya Gopnath are the exotic highlights and not to miss the other singers who make it more at the best.

Oh Maya
Singers : NC Karunya, Ramya NSK
Lyrics : Thamarai

This is something more common that we can expect from Harris Jayaraj and it’s a travel based song that could be montages out there by RD Rajashekar. Such numbers would surely gain the best receptions when viewed on the screens. Nevertheless, the rendition by NC Karunya and Ramya NSK has the impulsive impact on the song to a nicer magnitude.

Kannai Vittu
Singers : Tipu, Pravin Saivi, Sri Mathumitha
Lyrics : Karky

Yet another best number in the album that could get into your senses with more effects for the vocalizing strengths of Tipu, Pravin Saivi and Sri Madhumitha are like oceanic breeze that captures you immensely. This doesn’t need visuals for it grabs your attention for the in depth musical detailing and the singers too add up the emblazonment.

Iru Mugan Settai
Singers : Kavithai Gundar Emcee, Jesz
Lyrics : Kavithai Gundar Emcee, Jesz, Steeve Vatz, Maalavika Manoj

This cannot be regarded as something more electrifying and it is sure to shoot up the adrenaline stirring action sequences and chases in the film. It’s really something more enthralling to hear as an overall experience.

Face Off
Singer : Maria Roe Vincent

After watching the theatrical trailer, this music would surely have its greater impact upon the listeners. It is definitely an ordinary work by Harris Jayaraj, but it would precisely have a stunning result with the visuals canned by RD Rajashekar.

On the whole, Harris Jayaraj has tried to bounce back with Iru Mugan, but it stays up to the middling impact. Except the number ‘Halena’, which would cater to the tastes of Urban teen, Kannai Katti could get on well with the repeated hearing.

Verdict : Decent effort by Harris Jayaraj
