Following back to back hits with rural backdrops, Muthaiah is back to score hat-trick through a similar backdrop film titled ‘Marudhu’ starring Vishal and Sri Divya in lead roles. D Imman has composed music for this film and the album has 7 tracks including couple of karaoke and a theme music.

Karuvakaatu Karuvaaya
Singers: Vandana Srinivasan, Jithin Raj & Jayamoorthy
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

A slow paced folk number that traces back to the native tastes of commuting us to those lands. Vandana Srinivasan has her voice flowing with more beauty. The beats in the backdrops are so mild and the strings enhances. Jithin Raj and Jayamoorthy offer their best as well. The beats slightly reminiscences of ‘Kandaangi’ from ‘Jilla’…

Othasada Rosa Lyric
Singers: Saisharan & Pooja AV
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

When it comes to folk based numbers, D Imman repeats the same style, which gives an impression of hearing the same tune over and again. Although, Saisharan and Pooja AV give their best rendition, the entire composing sound so stereotypical with the blend of ‘Oodha Colouru Ribbon’.

Singers: Jinesh Prabhu
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

It looks like a title song of this film and this is a fast number that has every element to impress the fans of this star. But overall, the song is so mediocre and doesn’t get your attention instantly although the beats are heavy and energy pumping. Jinesh Prabhu gives an energetic appeal through this intonation.

Akka Petha
Singer: Anirudh Ravichander & Niranjana Ramanan
Lyrics: Yughabharathi

A stereotypical folk song that Vishal and D Imman should have intentionally made it for creating ‘FY FY FY Kalachify’ magic in Pandiya Naadu. They tried to create it with ‘Silukku Marame’, but it didn’t happen and yet again, this song sounds too normal and maybe few cohorts from rural zones might like it.

As the album comes to an end, there is a theme music titled ‘Marudhu Marudhu’, which could be seen during the mass heroism scenes. There are couple of karaoke tracks as we hear it in all D Imman albums. To put it on whole, there isn’t anything special we get from ‘Pandiya Naadu’ combo Vishal-Imman and songs sound too normal.

Verdict : Nothing special from Pandiya Nadu Imman-Vishal duo
