The most celebrated and expected Star Cricket that is held in accordance to raise funds for Nadigar Sangam building. It was such an incredible moment to see almost all the reigning actors from the South industry to be coming together for the celebration and good cause. 12 hours of non-stop entertainment and almost everyone from the showbiz amused the crowds.
The spectators weren’t just limited to Tamil film actors alone, but everyone from the neighbouring regional industries had made their way to witness this grand occasion that includes Balakrishna, Shiva Rajkumar, Venkatesh, Nivin Pauly, Indrajith, Sudeep and many others. But the biggest of all entertainment was the presence of Tamil film superstars like Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan, Dhanush, Suriya, Karthi, Vishal, Nasser, Ramki, Nalini, Samantha, Kausalya, Sachu, Pasupathy, Mansoor Ali Khan, Shruthi Haasan, Askhara Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Ashok Selvan and many unlimited actors were seen.
The first match involved the clash between Trichy Tigers and Chennai Singams. Superstar Rajnikanth commenced the game with the toss of coin and the match was won by the latter team. The league matches were later followed up proceeded with semi finals and finals.
The final match was held between Jiiva’s ‘Thanjai Warriors’ and Suriya’s ‘Chennai Singam’. The latter team won the Cup with a spectacular game it played through the course.
As the game was happening on full swing, actors like Mammootty, Vikram, Vishal, Karthi, Venkatesh and Sudeep played the traditional drums along with percussionists and amused the spectators.
The greatest of all highlights was Kamal Haasan playing drums along with Drums Sivamani during the final moments.
Chiyaan Vikram who celebrated his birthday was surprised with the entire fraternity thronging up to cut the cake in front of thousands of audiences.
Actor Vishal finally extended his vote of thanks to everyone saying, “When we decided to host a cricket match like this for a good cause, many questions were raised and we had to struggle and strive through it. I thank each and everyone from the Nadigar Sangam team for making it happen. I especially thank actor Ramana for giving a great idea about this cricket match. I ardently thank Superstar Rajnikanth sir, Kamal Haasan sir, Vikram, Mammooty, Balakrishnan sir, Sudeep sir and everyone, dancers, production manages, traditional music and dance artists and everyone for making this occasion more successful….”
