It’s not often we see it happening and at times, Malayalam cinema has been surprising the Tamil Nadu theatres as well. It all started off with Mohanlal’s Drishyam that managed to cross 100days in Tamil Nadu theatres followed by National award winning writer Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days. Now this year, it has been the realms of Nivin Pauly’s Premam, which is directed by Neram fame filmmaker Alphonse Puthren. The film had gained wonderful reviews across all the states and countries and with the English subtitles screened everywhere; it has managed to draw even more non-Malayalam speaking groups to the theatres. Now the film has successfully completed 100 days and it is soon getting remade in Tamil, Telugu and other regional languages.
