Following the good success of ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’, the most famous trio of Arya-Santhanam-Rajesh are back in form with Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga that stars Tamannaah in female lead. D Imman has composed music for the film and this is first time collaboration with director Rajesh and Arya.

1. Vasuvum Saravananum
Singers: Sooraj Santhosh and Kailash Kher
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

Light medium paced title song that speaks about the eminence of friendship. Thanks to the lyrical lines of Na. Muthukumar that has some funny lines yet convincingly done. The singers are perfect and it’s Kailash Kher stealing the show. Sooraj Santosh has rendered his best intonations.

2. Sona Sona
Singers: Armaan Malik, Varun Parandhaman and Maria Roe Vincent
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

Although the singers have given their best spell to impress us, the song remains to be little average and maybe, if the visuals are exquisitely impressive, it might scale some decent graphs after the release. Even the lyrical lines aren’t so much engrossing.

3. Lucka Maattikkichi
Singers: Dholak Gana Jagan, Senthildass, Palaniammal
Lyrics: G Rokesh

No need of introduction for this song as it is already topping some charts with the single track release that happened before a week. The song crooned by Dholak Gana Jagan, Senthildass, Palaniammal is pretty good and would be surely enjoyed by the front row audiences in the theatres.

4. Adadaa Onnum Solladha
Singers: Benny Dayal, Shakthisree Gopalan
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The tune is mildly okay. Singers Benny Dayal and Shakthisree Gopalan as usual render with impactful delivery, but again D Imman has infused a normal music in this track, which doesn’t impress us heavily.

5. Naa Romba Busy
Singers: Santosh Hariharan, Neeti Mohan, Sharanya Gopinath
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar, Snigdha Chandra

The album wraps up with this number, which is quite engrossing when compared to other tracks in this album. The song is cited with the famous dialogue by veteran comedian Goundamani, where he says ‘Naa Romba Busy’. D Imman has very well mixed with this song and dialogues. The Rap by Snigdha Chandra is appreciable.
VSOP album comes packaged with the tree Karaoke version of Sona Sona, Adada Onnum and Lucka Maattikicchu.

On the whole, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga is a below average fare by D Imman. He has been giving some best music in the recent times irrespective of what the genre he picks up, but this one is not up to our expected levels.

Verdict: Imman slightly disappoints us
