Expectations gained with not just the combination of Ajith-Gautham, but the latter one with Harris Jayaraj as the duo had managed to woo us with an impeccable piece of works in the past and Yennai Arindhaal gets special as it marks the comeback of Gautham-Harris.

Yaen Ennai
Singer – Sunitha Sarathy & Kharesma Ravichandran
Lyrics – Thamarai

A sassy bold appeal by Sunitha Sarathy, who is known for such panache and she carries out the song with perfect execution and not to miss the deliberate punch of Kharesma with elegance. The lyrical lines by Thamarai are average, but the musical composition and sound mixing. It sounds like a dream song pictured on Anushka Shetty and Ajith Kumar.

Mazhai Vara Pogudhae
Singer – Karthik & Emcee Jesz
Lyrics: Thamarai

Harris Jayaraj and Karthik always share a stupendous bonding and this song is yet another feather to their collaboration. The song slightly reminds us off some good melodies from Harris’ previous tracks and Emcee Jesz adds up some intensity to the track.

Unakkenna Venum Sollu
Singer – Benny Dayal & Mahathi
Lyrics – Thamarai

Getting through full stretch of western tracks, the album finds a new zone in melody and this haunts you instantly. Thamarai becomes the showstopper with simple yet beautiful lyrical lines and the melodic touch by Harris by using the apt instruments for this genre like flute and mild beats on accompaniment makes it more pleasing to the ears. Benny Dayal surprises with a melody shifting his prototyped paradigms.

Yennai Arindhaal
Singers – Devan Ekambaram, Mark Thomas & Abhishek
Lyrics – Thamarai

Listen to this track in your surround system and you’ll realise Harris Jayaraj spearheading with new sound technology. Although, he has delivered the best albums, this is the first ever track that comes with a package of great composing and top-notch sound editing and mixing.

Adhaaru Adhaaru
Singers – Gana Bala, Vijay Prakash
Lyrics – Vignesh Shivan

The track had hit with its fascination among Ajith fans before few weeks on single track, but as we hear the song with the trailer, the status gets elevated. While Thamarai has penned poignant and unusually unconventional lyrics for rest of the songs, Harris has found Vignesh Shivan would be apt for this Gaana oriented song that is crooned by Vijay Prakash and Gana Bala. This is sure to be a rocking treat for Thala fans in theatres.

Maaya Bazaar
Singers – Aalaap Raju, Priya Subramanian, Velmurugan & Krishna Iyer
Lyrics: Thamarai

The song shifts to different genres of music from Rap, retro-classical, folk and wedding choirs. It has worked out well and the transiting points are very well orchestrated. All credit goes to the singers in the track, who have offered the exact feel of every genre they have handled. And again, if not for Thamarai, this song would have not had such realms it enjoys now.

Idhayathai Yedho Oru
Singers – Chinmayi
Lyrics – Thamarai

This can be regarded as a reprised version of Unakenna Vennum Sollu. In the recent times, Chinmayi is found crooning lots of reprise versions as in ‘Ennodu Nee Irundhaal’ from ‘I’ and now this version gets honeyed with her angelic voice and poetic lines by Thamarai.

A very long time and finally Ajith fans can have a sigh of relief as their matinee idol manages to deliver a Chartbuster album. All praise goes to the outstanding trio combo of Gautham-Harris-Thamarai who has deliberately delivered some best Chartbusters in the past and their teaming up of second innings becomes one of the best albums of this season.

Verdict: Versatile panache with impactful punch
