After the overwhelming success of Mynaa and Kumki, Prabhu Solomon has comeback with Kayal. Has Kayal met the expectations of Prabhu Solomon's love story fans.?
Chandran(Aron) and Vincent(Socrates) plays the character of orphan friends who live their life as if there is no tomorrow. When just saying bye to an eloping love couple, they get caught to the eloping gal's family and there, Chandran meets Anandhi(Kayal) who is just a housemaid in that home and falls in love with her in single spark.
After getting to know that Chandran and Vincent are innocent are let free, they pave their journey to Kanyakumari. After this, Anandhi falls in love with Chandran and goes to Kanyakumari in search of him. Did they meet up or did they fail to succeed in love is the remaining.
Prabhu Solomon's previous love story has created a mile stone in his journey and Kayal would also be a mile stone but with very limited miles. The emotion in love story is the missing element in Kayal which Mynaa and Kumki had. Imman makes us to yawn in some songs. First half had perfect screenplay and second half would have been better with few trimming of some songs and scenes.
Cinematography and Art Direction is the major plus for the movie. Catching location like this for the movie makes Prabhu Solomon stand out from the lot.
Chandran, Anandhi and Vincent play their part up to the mark like it does not seem to be the first film. Other characters who appear in minimal scenes also have played their part without any flaws.
When expecting a heart touching love story from Prabhu Solomon, Kayal stands only 60% to it. But Kayal makes you love her.
