Kaththi trailer review

You would have not got your queries cleared up with the trailer of ‘Kaththi’ on Vijay playing the dual roles. We see only Kathiresan and the other character performed by Vijay as Jeevanandham is completely absent. The trailer has a running length of 1min 37secs and the opening shot brings back the Vijay’s Thuppakki mannerism during the stunt sequence, where he saves his sister from the bunch of terrorists. The trailer suddenly transits into cool romantic portions of Vijay trying to woo Samantha followed by the arrival of Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. What surprises is that he has dubbed with his own voice in Tamil and that too with a perfect slang. The dialogues of communism by Vijay during latter part of the trailer and its visual backdrops reminiscences of films like ‘Kuruvi’, ‘Sura’ and ‘Thalaivaa’, where he is seen as the saviour of masses. Moreover, the concept of villagers in trouble, a hero on rescue and a corporate baddie resembles Mahesh Babu’s ‘Khaleja’. But the musical backdrop, visual presentation and a powerful dialogue that speaks about the prominence of a villager and how equality is denied to them is a pick of this trailer. Filled with suspense as the other Vijay maintained as a secrecy, this will surely excite the audiences to come into theatres.

Verdict: Not powerful as ‘Thuppakki’, but comes with different power
