Producer Muktha R Govind (53), son of veteran producer Muktha V Ramasamy passed away last evening (April 9) due to prolonged illness. He had recently produced the film ‘Sivappu’ that starred Naveen Chandra and Rupa Manjari in lead roles. Soon after diagnosing his health issues, Govind was given complete treatment at a leading hospital, but the efforts went in vain with his demise. He is survived by his wife Priyadarshini Govind, principal of Kalakshetra Dance College. Since she is presently in Italy, the funeral rites will be performed tomorrow morning Friday (April 11) at Royapettah cremation ground. His body has been placed at his residence at Jagathaambal Street at Royapettah. It is worth mentioning that Muktha R Govind’s father Ramasamy in collaboration with Muktha V Srinivasan had produced many classical hit movies like Superstars Rajnikanth’s Polladhavan and Sivappu Suriyan, Sivaji Ganesan’s ‘Andhamaan Kadhali’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Nayagan’.

We at Top 10 Cinema regret and express our heartfelt condolence to the family and close friends grieving his demise.
