When AR Murugadoss released the first look teaser of ‘Thuppakki’, there were no dialogues except these three words ‘I AM WAITING’. It a perfect six on the first ball of match!!! It created huge hype and sensation as many Ilayathalapathy fans incessantly watched it. Thuppakki was one such film that garnered huge response even from the Non-Vijay fans.

Following the grand success, AR Murugadoss has remade the film in Hindi titled ‘HOLIDAY – A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY.

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha are playing the lead roles. Let us put it in simple terms, maybe South Indian movies spin huge profits for the Bollywood producers, but when it comes to comparison, Vijay is best and the Tamil version was rocking more than this one.

The reason is Akshay Kumar lacks heroism in this teaser and the way of dialogue deliveries are not as impressive as the Thuppakki. The director has tried to project this film like it’s a Holiday movie that you can watch with your family. There is humour, there is liplocks and yes, there are numerous mind-boggling action sequences. In fact, it’s like a short film version of the entire film as AR Murugadoss tries to convey the complete screenplay in few scenes.

But it fails to create the same impact. Akshay Kumar looks too aged for this role and there is no ‘Youth’ factor and we cannot accept the fact that he is still an youngster looking out for a bride. Even Sonakshi lacks the energy that was very much evident with Kajal Aggarwal…. The baddie might score some brownie points, but not as Vidyut Jamwal.

Verdict: Fails to recreate ‘Thuppakki’ impact
