Lengthy analysis isn’t necessary for this film, maybe few lines is more than enough to review Jai Ho. It’s a Salman Khan movie and audience is sure to have a big entertainment bash much alike his previous flicks. But what turns more to be an intriguing factor here is the basic theme borrowed from Hollywood movie ‘Pay it Forward’. Perhaps, a bridging constituent is AR Murugadoss’ Telugu film STALIN that comes as a direct inspiration for this film.

The film is not just about an one-man army taking against the bunch of hooligans stereotypically pampered by a politician, but a beautiful gesture of ‘Help and Love One Another’. When you help someone, don’t look out for a favour in return, but instead request them to reach out and help others. Our protagonist Jai (Salman Khan) vigilantly involves in this mission and on the course locks horn with a deadly politician (Danny Denzongpa).

Looking out for performance ranking, it’s Sallu Bhai and there is no need to bring out the usual stuffs over and again. But there is something he has outmatched his previous films: the emotional spell. His realistic performance in certain scenes and the one with the baddie is a bigger stroke. Although, there are a huge number of fights in the film, the climax has been justified with an impeccable conscientiousness on smile-on-cheeks, moistened eyes and lump-in-throat elements. Daisy Shah looks beautiful indeed, but doesn’t have much scope to perform, but Tabu as Sallu’s sister scores brownie points… The others in the cast that include Danny Denzongpa and Mahesh Manjrekar are at their best. Genelia D’ Souza is an extended cameo is beautiful.

Technically, it’s background score that adds more intensity, but the songs are not up to the expected levels. In fact, it turns out to be a spoiler in the screenplay. The dialogues are very well written and it stands out to be a highlighting element in the script.

On the whole, Jai Ho has a lot of best moments and it looks perfect and best even if you’ve watched the original version ‘Stalin’ many times. That is the magic of Salman Khan and yes ‘Jai Ho’ is a definite Crores-club winner of this year.

Verdict: A powerful film with powerful message
