After the roaring success of Ethirneechal, it’s time to see Sivakarthikeyan on Silver screen with his latest release VARUTHAPADATHA VAALIBAR SANGAM (VVS). The title of the movie itself conveys the news as it’s a comedy movie. But will the movie stand up to the expectation..??
Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam (VVS) is a club found and run by Sivakarthikeyan (Bose Pandi) and Soori (Kotti) in their Village. Sree Divya (Latha Pandi) enters the screen as a school going gal who is the third daughter of Satyaraj (Sivanandi). Sivanandi a person who lives his life by his courage and a proud feelings of a hunter and praises the role of the village head. As usual hero falls in love with the heroine but before that he falls for her teacher which is played in guest appearance by Bindu madhavi (Kalyani teacher).
The movie starts with the introduction to Sivanandi and his Prestige. Bose’s role as the head of VVS kick starts the movie. But the introduction to Kotti is unexpected and has huge applause in the start. Jobless and Worriless is motto and is well executed by both and very well executed by the director in the screenplay. Not a new story, Hero falls in love with the Heroine and Heroine’s father tries to separate them and this is what happens here also, but the way screenplay is written in simply clean. There a great thanks to our Director Ponram. Dialogues of Director M.Rajesh carry the screenplay to next level. Music of D.Imman is an additional bonus to the movie. As expected and the latest trend is to use a bit of Ilayaraja’s song and it comes here also in correct situations.
Cinematographer Balasubramaniem has done a clean job from frame selection to execution.
What to expect: A usual village love story, Siva’s timely actions and reactions, gently phased screenplay, comedy to laugh.
What not to expect: Twists, turns, new characterization, new music.
Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam – a movie with a clean screenplay and gentle speed which does not makes us go yawning.
