In the recent times, many films are find hard to make its way to theatres and Madras Cafe becomes the latest one to join the league. Released across the world with more prints, both the versions of Tamil and Hindi has been banned in Tamil Nadu due to the protest raised by certain groups. However, the film has witnessed a huge response across every centre and many have acclaimed it as a 'Taut Thriller in Hollywood Style'. The film has bagged incredible reviews for the thrill moments begin right from the first minute of this film.

Madras Cafe is set in backdrops of 1990s. When a serious issue is all set to happen in Srilanka, a Research Analysis Wing agent (John Abraham) arrives there as a spy to carry on with a secret operation. Over there, he meets a journalist (Nargis Fakhri), where a shocking truth is unraveled. Ajay Ratnam plays the role of a terror group named Anna and three real life retired RAW agents have performed the same characters as well.
