Storyline: Karthi’s ancestral home in Karaikudi is in the danger of being usurped by a politician. In order to save the property, Karthi arrives to Chennai to get back the property by political means but is unable to do so and returns back to his native place. As per the advice of his grandfather, Karthi meets the Chief Minister only to realise that the CM is very calculative and is involved in ‘business politics’. Insulted by the CM, Karthi turns towards ‘Kandhuvaddi’ Radhika, ‘Godman’ Nasser, Opposition Leaders Kota Srinivasa Rao and others and shatters the CM’s devious plans. In between this, there is a lot of scope for Santhanam’s comedy and love scenes with Praneetha. The rest of the plot is about revealing the true colours of the CM, played by Prakash Raj and if Karthi gets back his ancestral home.

Positive:Karthi’s acting, Santhanam’s comedy.

Negative: Screenplay is devoid of logic in some places, and confusion over highlighting comedy or politics.

In Total: Saguni is for the family audiences because it is a political story without violence.

What fans say: Could have included more action sequences… comedy is super. Can see the film once more just for the comedy.
