The City Civil Court has vacated the stay order on Vanayudham following its producer and director giving word that he would exhibit the film to Nakkeeran Gopal before the release. The journalist has filed a petition seeking a stay in Vanayudham stating that his character may have been depicted in bad light.

Nakkeeran Gopal had negotiated a deal with the late Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan to have the Kannada star Raj Kumar released. The star, it may be mentioned here, was held as a captive for some demands that Veerappan had.

Since Vanayudham (Tamil) and Attahasa (Kannada) deals with this story, Nakkeeran Gopal felt that there may be scenes involving his character too and sought a stay on its release. In a counter to this petition, producer-director Ramesh confirmed that there is no such role in the film.

He also gave word that the film would be screened to Nakkeeran Gopal 10 days before its release. Following this assurance, the magistrate vacated the stay order till June 15th.
