In India, UTV is releasing the film across the country through its own network of distributors and exhibitors. In Tamil Nadu, the film is releasing in over 300 screens and in rest of the country (Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune) in another 150 screens. Vettai starring Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul, Thambi Ramaiya and others introduces popular Hindi actor Ashutosh Rana as the main villain of the film. The film’s music from Yuvan Shankar Raja has already become a chart buster and is on the top 2 songs for three weeks now. Lingusamy’s regular technician team of Cinematographer Nirav Shah, Editor Anthony, Art Director Rajeevan, Lyrics writer Na. Muthukumar and Dialogues writer Brinda Sarathy have provided tremendous support to enhance the presentation of the film.

Lingusamy believes that Vettai will be a combination of Run and Sandakozhi in terms of story of two brothers who standby each other through thick and thin. Madhavan plays the role of a cop and Arya plays the role of Madhavan’s alterego in action. The entire film happens in the backdrop of Tuticorin and the action scenes are one of the highlights in the film.

Vettai, released yesterday is a complete family entertainer and a treat to the audience with wholesome entertainment to celebrate this Pongal. UTV Motion Pictures, which went all out to promote this film, is confident that their efforts to market the film through all media will certainly make this action entertainer a grand success at the box office. The biggest word of encouragement came from Director Shankar, who called Lingusamy and wished him good luck for Vettai after noticing the all-round marketing of the film and the positive word the film gained from all quarters. Though Vettai faces Nanban at the box office, it is really not in competition as both the films belong to different genre and hence not in direct competition. With long holidays in January, both the films can be expected to win at the box office handsomely.
