Doubtlessly, 2011 is a year meant for Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music director is churning out back-to-back chartbusters. Following his commendable works in ‘Vaanam’ and ‘Pesu’ completes his first spell of hat-trick for this year through ‘Kadhal 2 Kalyanam’. The tracks are completely based on western style and are sure to cater to the tastes of city guys and gals.
1. Idhu Kadhalai
Vocals: Benny Dayal, Chinmayi
Benny Dayal and Chinmayi woo you down with their peppy-styled voices. The beats are mild and yet zippy throughout the song and adds more spirit to the enjoyment. As mentioned earlier, the song will surely savor the youngsters as it carries such essence.
2. Natpin Kadhaigalai
For a very long time, we weren’t able to hear the sweet mesmerizing voice of Krish and now he is back with a cool and composed number. ‘Natpin Kadhaigalai’ is struck well by the combo of Yuvan and Krish. It’s a bit song and yet keeps relentlessly ringing in our senses even after it is over.
3. Naa Vetta Pora Aadu
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Roshini
Yuvan Shankar Raja always believes in the mantra – Sweet and Simple are the biggest attractions of any compositions. Obviously, he takes on this song with same approach. Yuvan gears up for a commendable show with his crooning style. It’s sure to haunt everyone in towns soon, especially the young lads.
4. Vellai Kodi
Vocals: S.P Charan
The song starts on a lighter note and within fraction of few minutes, we tend to notice the momentum gained. S.P. Charan deserves appreciations for trying out this song shifting his paradigm. The instrumental part is done with excellence.
5. Thedi Varuven
A typical Yuvan style song with pumping beats. Toshi has experimented with a newfangled style by exerting good efforts to emphasize on pronunciation. This is the cherry-pick of this album and will surely go on topper places in audio charts.
Vocals: Naresh Iyer, Andrea
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
Before few days, we had a beautiful romantic song from ‘Angadi Theru’ shot in backdrops of Chennai’s night life. This one falls under the same genre, but with a different style. Simple orchestration, beautiful rendition by Naresh Iyer and Andrea turns this song as your favorite on right on the first time of hearing it. Yuvan has worked a lot on sound to modulate the vocalisms with special effects. It sounds like the visuals would embellish it more with best quality. Everything is gonna be alright – These lines reminiscences of Akshay Kumar’s promo song for animation movie ‘Jumbo’.
On the whole, ‘Kadhal 2 Kalyanam’ has attractive peppy numbers. Though Yuvan Shankar Raja had done the songs nearly before a year, it’s nice to hear them sound so fresh and catchy.
