Eulogizing Kaka Radhakrishnan
Kaka Radhakrishnan, born as Radhakrishnan in the year 1925, made his entry in the Tamil film industry with the film Mangaiyakkarasi in 1949 and was seen in several hundreds of films right till his death on June 14th, 2012.
The prefix ‘Kaka’ stuck to his name after his role in his debut film where he would chase a crow yelling “Ka Ka.”Interestingly, Kaka Radhakrishnan was instrumental in bringing his good friend Sivaji Ganesan to films. Sivaji Ganesan was a drama artiste before venturing into filmdom and hence was closely associated with Kaka Radhakrishnan right from the early days.
They both shared a close bonding and friendship all through the years.Kaka Radhakrishnan had acted not only in Tamil films but was also seen in Telugu and Malayalam films. He shared the screen space with almost all the established heroes including MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar, Karthik, Mohanlal, and Vijay, right from the early 1950s till 2010.
His frail health forbade him from donning the greasepaint two years prior to his death. The actor finally succumbed to breathing problems on June 14th 2012 thereby bringing his era to an end.

Kaka Radhakrishnan was married to Visalakshi and Saradambal and had eight children – three sons and five daughters.
